Meet the team at FrameMakers. We invite you to visit the best show room in the GTA. Choose from over 4,000 frame samples. We’re located in Toronto (near Dufferin and Finch) where there is plenty of parking.

Richard has been a lifelong entrepreneur, having owned and managed several businesses both in the UK and Canada. He and his partner Edit purchased FrameMakers International to add to a retail art and framing operation they already owned. In need of a large workshop facility, he acquired FrameMakers International, a perfect fit. His primary focus is managing the workshop operations and also takes care of the financial side of things. In Richard’s free time he is a keen cyclist and in winter takes to downhill skiing.

Edit completed a Fine Arts degree in Europe. After immigrating to Canada she continued her studies and qualified as a graphic designer, putting her artistic talents to work in that field for many years. Since the purchase of FrameMakers International she has spearheaded the redesigning of the corporate logo and signage. She is also pleased to work alongside her daughter Zsuzsi, who has followed in her artistic footsteps in becoming a photographer.

Sonja is a framing expert, designer, and coordinator of the showroom and workshop. As a custom framing professional and with over 30 years of experience in her own gallery and framing business, Sonja accumulated a wealth of knowledge on materials, procedures, and conservation processes. She is our technical expert and is a Certified Picture Framer (CPF) since 1991 after completing courses and exams by the Professional Picture Framers Association. Being a creative person, she is still learning every day that just about anything can be framed attractively! E.g. view the shovel! A native of the Netherlands, Sonja has a BA in English Literature, loves music, movies, cooking, traveling and her family.

Zsuzsi is a professional photographer, retoucher, and the marketing and social media co-ordinator at FrameMakers. She started her career in film as a set photographer and in the sound department which lead her to study photography at Ryerson. Most of her learning has come from hands-on experience and working and training under professional photographers in New York, Hungary, and Toronto. She loves to travel, opening her mind to new inspirations. Zsuzsi also speaks Hungarian and is an avid skier and ski instructor at Blue Mountain resort.

Workshop Crew

All framers in the workshop have a long history working at FrameMakers. They are quality oriented and creative artisans in all aspects of framing. This ensures all the work is completed perfectly and consistently, on time. Our crew is experienced in handling jobs of any size and capable of finding solutions for any problems including those that have not yet been invented!

At FrameMakers we speak English, Hungarian, German, Dutch, Spanish, Farsi, Finnish, Hebrew, Yiddish, and even some French!
